PHOENIX — One person is dead after a car crashed into a pole in south Phoenix and caught on fire, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Officials said the single-vehicle crash happened near 15th Avenue and Broadway Road around 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Fire crews have turned the scene over to police to investigate.
Police told 12News the scene is still very active.
