The second round of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Tournament is underway, and so far it has not lacked any action with some upset scares and even a heartbreaking overtime loss at home for Kentucky.
Reigning national champion South Carolina advanced to its 11th consecutive Sweet 16 by overcoming a confident Indiana team, but we are still waiting to see the full list of teams advancing to the second weekend of the tournament.
Sunday’s action wrapped up No. 1 overall seed UCLA surviving a scare from No. 8 seed Richmond. The game was tied at the half, but the Bruins broke the game open in the third quarter and prevailed, 84-67.
The second half of the Round of 32 takes place Monday with No. 1 seeds USC and Texas taking the stage. It was another strong defensive performance for Texas, as the Longhorns forced 20 turnovers in a 65-48 win over Illinois.
Women’s March Madness 2025: Printable NCAA Tournament bracket as more than half of Sweet 16 field is set
CBS Sports Staff
After No. 10 Oregon suffered a six-point loss to No. 2 Duke on Sunday, No. 10 South Dakota State is the only double-digit seed remaining, but the Jackrabbits might not be around for too much longer since their next task will be trying to defeat UConn on its home floor. However, this year there are a lot of dangerous teams that are serious contenders outside of the No. 1 seeds.
An interesting wrinkle to the women’s tournament as opposed to the men is that the highest seed in the four-team pods plays host for the first weekend. Then, two cities — Birmingham, Alabama, and Spokane, Washington — will host the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight before the remaining teams head to Florida for the Final Four and national championship game in Tampa.
Below is all the information you’ll need to keep up with the action. Be sure to check back in on this page as it will be updated with matchups and tip times over the next three weeks.
