PHOENIX — Four inmates at a Buckeye prison have been charged with murder in the death of another inmate.
Jacob Major, 43, died on Dec. 16, 2025, after several inmates attacked him at Lewis State Prison, officials with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry said. On Saturday, officials said four people were charged with his murder: Aaron Halgar, Victor Hernandez, Timothy Moss and Christopher Velasquez.
Major was serving a prison sentence out of Pima County for vehicle theft and burglary. The corrections department said Major’s death appears to have been the result of “isolated gang-related disputes.”
