49ers star Nick Bosa crashes post-game interview wearing MAGA hat

San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Nick Bosa briefly interrupted a live post-game interview to highlight his support for the Republican presidential nominee, former President Trump, roughly a week before Election Day.

As NBC News’s Melissa Stark conducted an interview with three of Bosa’s teammates after San Francisco beat Dallas, 30-24, Bosa entered the frame behind the group, looked into the camera and pointed with both hands to his hat, which read, “Make America Great Again,” in white-and-gold lettering.

“All right. Nick Bosa with a message there,” Stark said, as the three teammates laughed and Bosa quickly exited the shot.

At a press conference after the game, Bosa was asked by a reporter about “what appeared to be a political statement.”

“I’m not going to talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important time,” Bosa responded.

Bosa’s support for the former president has been well known for years.

Before he was drafted by the 49ers in 2019, Bosa said he deleted his political tweets supporting Trump, SFGate noted. Earlier this year, Bosa met Trump at the UFC fight in Miami, and they took a photo with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow displaying a thumps-up.

At the post-game press conference, Bosa was also asked whether he previously has been “tempted” to show his support for Trump.

“It’s definitely a little easier nowadays, but no, I don’t feel too inclined to do that,” Bosa said on Sunday, SFGate reported.

Asked why, Bosa said, it’s “just a different climate.”
