Barbara J. Frush Gorby, 87, of Stonewood, went to be with her Savior at her home on Saturday, February 22, 2025, with her family at her side.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James “Jamie” Gorby.
She is also survived by her son, Troy Gorby of Lost Creek; daughter, Jamie Faith Gorby of Stonewood; granddaughter, Mallory Gorby Ellison of Alexandria, VA; great-grandchildren, Theodore and Soraya Ellison of Alexandria, VA.
Barbara was a graduate of Roosevelt-Wilson High School Class of 1955. She also attended Fairmont State College and Salem College. She worked as a tutorial aide in five different schools for the Harrison County Board of Education for 33 years. She was a member of Christian Assembly Church for 58 years where she enjoyed being the Sunday school teacher for young children and was a member of the Praise & Worship team. She was the lead singer for many years for Heavenbound Quartet and visited many different churches to sing. She also participated in nursing home ministries for 30 years.
In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Gorby will be cremated.
A Celebration of Life will be hosted by her family at the Christian Assembly Church, 316 Buckhannon Pike, Clarksburg, WV, 26301, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a dinner to follow.
