Bridgeport Police Arrest Local Man in Parking Lot of City Retail Plaza after Finding Fentanyl, Gun, $5,000

According to WDTV, a Clarksburg man was arrested after police found him with 35 grams of fentanyl.

John Lucas, 28, was found in the Big Lots parking lot at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday after 911 received a complaint of a man with a gun, according to the Bridgeport Police Department.

When police arrived on scene, they frisked Lucas and found a pistol in his waistband.

Due to a domestic battery conviction in 2015, Lucas is unable to possess a firearm.

Lucas then told the officers he had drugs on him, and in his right jacket pocket, two small plastic baggies were found — one containing 20 grams of fentanyl and the other containing 15 grams of fentanyl.

Police also found almost $5,000 in a fanny pack Lucas was wearing.

Lucas is charged with possession with intent to deliver fentanyl and prohibited person carrying concealed.

He is currently in the North Central Regional Jail with bond set at $50,000.
