Area Man who Spent More than 25 Years Teaching in High School, Robert Schulz Liebl, Passes at Age 78

Robert Schulz Liebl, 78, of Fairmont passed away on Monday April 7, 2025 at the Pierpont Center at Fairmont Campus.  He was born December 17, 1946 in Philadelphia, P.A. a son of the late Malcolm Schulz and the late Dorothy H. Raue and John H. Liebl.  He was preceded in death by his wife Susan “Cleo” Hanlon Liebl in February of 2022.


 


Mr. Liebl was a graduate of Willingboro High School, Stoneybrook University, and Hoffstra University where he obtained his Master’s degree.  He worked with the New York Department of Education where he served as a high school teacher in Long Island, NY for over 25 years.  Bob was an avid reader and highly enjoyed the “Lord of the Rings” book series, he also enjoyed board gaming with metal miniatures.


 


He is survived by his sons, Eric and Elyssa Liebl of Royal Palm Beach, FL, and Craig Liebl of New York, a granddaughter, Emma Liebl, his siblings Barbara Liebl and her companion Jeff Craven, David Liebl, Dr. Naomi Shulz Mann, Mara Shulz, Dr. Malcolm Shulz, as well as several nieces and nephews.


 


In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Schulz.


 


The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont.  In accordance with his wishes, cremation services will be held and private services will follow.
