Paratroopers injured in Arizona baseball ceremony

Video from the incident appears to show two paratroopers suffering hard landings after parachuting onto the field while carrying flags.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Two paratroopers were injured after suffering hard landings during a pregame ceremony during Arizona Baseball Military Appreciation Night in Tucson.

Video shows several paratroopers with flags attached to them parachuting into the stadium but two appeared to have their legs buckle beneath them during the hard landings. The Tucson Fire Department was on scene and transported the paratroopers to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The baseball team posted to X that their “thoughts and prayers” are with the injured paratroopers.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the paratroopers injured during tonight’s pregame ceremony,” the post on X said. “Thank you for your service to our nation, and thank you to the first responders who provided their assistance.
