Fourth positive measles case reported in Arkansas

The Arkansas Department of Health announced this week that a fourth case of measles has been confirmed in the state.

CONWAY, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) announced this week that a fourth case of measles has been confirmed in Arkansas.

According to health officials, the case happened in Faulkner County and impacted an individual who wasn’t fully vaccinated.

ADH said that the person has no record of travel outside of Arkansas, which means that this case is the first reported case of community spread of measles in Arkansas this year.

Health officials stated that the reported case visited the following locations while infectious:

Conway Regional Greenbrier Family Medicine, 110 N. Broadview, Greenbrier on April 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Irby Dance Studio, 1032 Front St., Conway on April 23 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

As it stands, there have not been any exposures identified at daycares or schools. ADH encourages people who visited any of the listed locations to visit a health care professional and receive an MMR vaccine to prevent the spread of the illness.

For those who may have been potentially exposed, here are the symptoms that ADH officials said that you should look out for:

Fever
Cough
Runny nose
Conjunctivitis
Rash

This fourth measles case comes after ADH initially announced the first positive case on the afternoon of Thursday, April 10, 2025, when a positive case had been identified in Saline County.
