Photos show impact of May 19 storms in Arkansas, Oklahoma

Storms in Arkansas and Oklahoma, with at least two confirmed tornadoes, caused over 34,000 power outages and damage on Monday. Here are photos of the aftermath.

ARKANSAS, USA — Storms in Arkansas and Oklahoma — with at least two confirmed tornadoes — left damage and over 34,000 power outages across the area on May 19.

Tad Sours with Washington County said there were reports of damage in Greenland, West Fork, south Fayetteville, Lincoln, Cane Hill, and around Baum-Walker Stadium. The Lincoln Fire Department said the storm damaged multiple structures and brought down several power lines and trees. There are no injuries reported at this time. 

Travis Cooper with the Sebastian County Department of Emergency Management said there were no injuries or major damages reported yet. Cooper said there is flooding countywide from the storm, especially in Fort Smith. After speaking with Fort Smith city officials, Cooper said there have been at least five water rescues due to vehicles stalling in areas that are prone to flooding
