The residents of Soumy region “really feel that the war has intensified”, said FRANCE 24’s correspondent in Ukraine Emmanuelle Chaze. The local population has been experiencing daily shelling for two and half years. Between June and now, there were more than 2000 hits on the Soumy region and the bordering regions with bombs and artillery shelling. This means that for thousands of civilians, “there is a need to flee”, said Chaze.
