Arkansas Drug Take Back Day returns as a safe option to discard prescriptions

The Arkansas Drug Take Back organization is hosting a statewide prescription disposal day for citizens to safely and legally discard old or unused prescriptions.

BENTON, Ark. — The Arkansas Drug Take Back (ADTB) organization is hosting a statewide drug take-back day, a chance to dispose of unused or expired prescriptions properly.

The initiative began in 2010 when the Benton Police Department partnered with several community organizations to host “Operation Medicine Cabinet.” Within that year, the State of Arkansas announced the “Monitor.Secure.Dispose” public education program.

Currently, in collaboration with the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership, the Arkansas Office of the Drug Director, and several other agencies, ADTB continues to work with local law enforcement to host Arkansas Drug Take Back collection drives each April and October.

The event will happen on April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ADTB disposal sites across Arkansas can be found here.
