Last week, emergency service personnel responded to a wreck on Interstate 79 northbound north of Bridgeport that created traffic issues.

The call came Friday, April 3 near 5 p.m. to members of the Valley Volunteer Fire Department in Marion County. The call was for a vehicle accident with possible injuries.

Crews arrived at the scene at the 136 mile marker. The area is the Fairmont exit off I-79.

First responders initially discovered a single vehicle that had crashed into the guardrail. The vehicle suffered considerable damage.

The driver was treated by members of the Marion County Rescue Squad. The individual was transported for medical treatment.

Due to the accident, the offramp was closed to allow the vehicle to be removed by Hawkins Towing. It also allowed fire personnel to clean the scene.
