SURPRISE, Ariz. — Reports of firearms and tasers were allegedly displayed at a West Valley teen party during Easter weekend.
On April 4, around 9 p.m., the Surprise Police Department was called to a home near Loop 303 and Greenway Road for a call about a “subject with a gun”.
Police said the incident occurred during a teen gathering with no parents or guardians present.
The event was reportedly shared on social media, and a large number of people attended. The host later stated that many people who arrived were unknown.
Police said a group of people assaulted a teen. There were reports of firearms or tasers that were allegedly displayed.
“Incidents like this highlight how quickly situations can escalate when gatherings are promoted online without supervision. Sharing event details publicly can attract large, unknown crowds and create unsafe environments. We encourage parents and guardians to have ongoing conversations with their teens about responsible social media use, personal safety, and the potential risks associated with hosting or attending unsupervised gatherings,” police said.
