Fully Involved Harrison County Structure Fire Results in First Responder Presence from Several Counties

WDTV reported that a structure fire broke out on Friday evening, July 3, drawing a multi-department response that stretched across several counties as crews battled against the fire for nearly three and a half hours.

According to a Facebook post from the Lost Creek Volunteer Fire Department, crews were alerted to a structure fire on Mount Olive Church Road, between West Milford and Salem, at approximately 6:09 P.M. The structure was fully involved when crews arrived on scene.

Crews from the West Milford Volunteer Fire Department, Lost Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Nutter Fort Volunteer Fire Department, and Jane Lew Volunteer Fire Department were among the initial units alerted.

Firefighters immediately began suppression operations while working to establish a reliable water supply to the scene. Tankers shuttled water from a fill site set up at Buffalo Lake. Due to the excessive heat, reinforcements were called in from Jackson’s Mill, Stonewood, Summit Park, Philippi, and Smithburg Volunteer Fire departments to help sustain operations.

Crews worked on scene for approximately three and a half hours. No injuries were reported.
