Along with One Location in West Virginia, Retail Giant Announces Closure of Seven More Sites Nationally


According to USA TODAY, JCPenney will close eight locations this year, a company spokesperson said, adding to the list of more than 200 closures since the company filed for bankruptcy five years ago.


 


JCPenney announced plans to close more than 200 locations across the country after the retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May 2020. The chain was later acquired by Simon Property Group and Brookfield Asset Management Inc. in December 2020.

As reported on Connect-Bridgeport, earlier this month, the location at the Charleston Town Center Mall was closing. It is on the list of eight sites shutting down as the woes continue for the retail giant.

The Shops At Northfield, Denver, Colorado

Pine Ridge Mall, Pocatello, Idaho

West Ridge Mall. Topeka, Kansas

Westfield Annapolis Mall, Annapolis, Maryland

Fox Run Mall, Newington, New Hampshire

Asheville Mall, Asheville, North Carolina

Charleston Town Center, Charleston, West Virginia
