Best West Virginia City to Live in for 2026? Website is Pointing to Bridgeport as its Choice at Top of the List

A regional “infotainment” Website that uses various information sources from the U.S. Census Bureau to the FBI has recently released a list of “The 10 Best Places to Live in West Virginia in 2026.”

Based on the analysis of the information used for this particular ranking, HomeSnacks.com listed the City of Bridgeport as its top choice. The only other area city making the list was Morgantown at No. 10.

The story talked about the growth and population (9,252) as well as when it was chartered (1816). It mentions it has grown and continued to prosper and has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state. It also talked about the area’s industries and the cost of homes.

“It’s now home to several aerospace companies and many oil and gas companies; so, when you see that $297,307 price tag for a home here, don’t shed a tear, the median income in Bridgeport is $100,022/year.”

And as is often the case in these lists that come out annually where Bridgeport finds itself with a favorable ranking, there is plenty of positiive comments to the public school system in the city.
