Beverly Grove shooting: Suspect in custody after man killed

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A man was taken into custody for allegedly shooting and killing another man in a neighborhood in the Beverly Grove area, police said.

The shooting was reported just before 1:30 p.m. Friday near Alfred Street and Oakwood Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police say a 58-year-old man armed with a gun showed up to a home after a family dispute and shot the victim, identified as a 61-year-old man. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the alleged shooter was apprehended.

When police first arrived at the scene, LAPD says a woman was found with a head injury.

The L.A. Fire Department also said one person was attacked with a bat during the incident, but did not specify exactly who had been hit.

Footage from AIR7 captured a baseball bat on the property.

Further details on what led up to the attack were not immediately released.
