Bridgeport Resident who was Long-Time Community Volunteer, Lois Louise White Snider, Passes at 90


Lois Louise White Snider, 90 years of age of Bridgeport, WV passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the Manchin Assisting Living Facility in Bridgeport.


 

She was born on September 11, 1934 in Man, WV, the daughter of the late Troy and Lois E. Justice White. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Richard Lee Snider.


 


Lois graduated from Man High School in Man, WV and was a faithful member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, where she actively participated in the Prayer Shawl Ministry. She worked at the C&P Telephone Company in Logan, WV for many years. Lois was also a dedicated homemaker and mother. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and knitter. Lois was very active in the community, as she volunteered regularly at Shepherd’s Corner and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Queen Ester Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 11 in Bridgeport. She found her greatest enjoyment by spending precious time with her many friends and family.


 


Lois is survived by her children, James and Amy Weatherwax Snider of Bridgeport, John and Sherry Forren Snider of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Susan Snider Oakman and her husband Tyson of Collierville, TN; eight grandchildren, Leah M. Snider of Bridgeport, Sarah E. Snider-Light and her husband LtCol. Ryan Q. Light of El Paso, TX, Sean C. Snider and his wife Chloe Snider-Boyles of Bridgeport, Steven R. Snider and his wife Brittany, Troy T. Snider and his wife Madison, Sabrina A. Snider, Trevor C. Snider, all of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Payton E. Oakman of Collierville, TN. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren, Wesley D. Conley, Maddox J. Conley, Emma Q. Light, Anders J. Light, Wyatt R. Snider, Brynn R. Snider, Charlotte J. Snider, Mallory K. Snider, Luke W. Snider, and Boston L. Snider.


 


In addition to her husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn White.


 


The family would like to extend a special thank you to the United Hospital Center Nurses and Doctors for their exemplary care and treatment, as well as the Manchin Assisted Living Facility, especially Dr. Manchin, Lissa Manchin, and the nursing staff for their complete commitment to providing a safe, clean, and compassionate care environment.


 


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 6 pm until 8 pm and at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11 am until 12 Noon. The funeral service will be held in the church on Friday at 12 Noon with Reverend Dr. Matthew Paugh officiating. Following the service, Lois will be laid to rest with her husband at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
