City Woman Faces Felony for Possession of Firearm without License at Pittsburgh International Airport

Allegheny County Police have charged a Bridgeport, WV woman after a firearm was discovered at the main security checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport.


 


At 3:34 pm on February 22, 2025, Transportation Security Administration officers observed a handgun within a passenger’s carry-on bag at the main security checkpoint of Pittsburgh International Airport and alerted Allegheny County Police.


 


County Police identified the passenger as 31-year-old Janessa Mann and determined Mann did not possess a valid concealed carry permit. Mann is facing one felony charge for carrying a firearm without a license. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also notified.


 


Passengers who bring firearms into an airport security checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the Transportation Security Administration up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910.
