Good Morning Italy debuts online: a news portal bringing Italy to the World

Directed by renowned Italian journalist Claudio Brachino, former Mediaset Director, and produced by LuckyHorn in partnership with the Italian news agency Italpress.

Good Morning Italy, a new all-news portal, has been launched to provide in-depth coverage of Italy’s most important stories to a global audience, exclusively in English. Founded by Davide Ippolito and Joe Casini and directed by Claudio Brachino, Good Morning Italy aims to offer an authentically Italian perspective, filling an information gap for a vast international community, thanks to a valuable partnership with the Italpress news agency and the Italian-American network, We The Italians, founded by Umberto Mucci.

Davide Ippolito highlighted the significance of this initiative: “We’re addressing a growing demand in the U.S., and worldwide, for news from Italy in English, something that has never been done so accurately and consistently before.” He also emphasized, “This is a step forward in creating a media network aimed at Italy enthusiasts and a potential audience of 80 million people, including 3 million potential voters.”

Editorial Director Claudio Brachino also shared his excitement about this new editorial venture: “There is an extraordinary Italian community in America that no longer speaks our language but still looks to our country, along with an even larger group of ‘Italics’ who speak English but share the history and roots of the Italian community. Good Morning Italy will greet them when they wake up, using the mediums of our time—web and social media—to show what Italy is like today: socially, culturally, and politically. The most important stories, with comprehensive coverage by Italpress, will be featured alongside editorials, reflections, and commentary to help better understand the complexities of current events. It’s a morning bridge between two countries with a long-standing love affair—Italy and America.”

Good Morning Italy will focus on Italy’s most important news and key issues in social, political, economic, and cultural life, targeting an international community that, while living far from home, maintains strong ties to its Italian roots.

“My young editorial team and I,” Brachino continued, “will deliver the top five stories happening in our country daily, along with my own reflections and a very free editorial: minimal ideology, lots of storytelling, and plenty of honesty in representing reality.” He added, “It’s an exciting challenge that we’re taking on with great energy.”

Good Morning Italy will be supported by Italpress, an Italian news agency founded in Palermo, with offices in Rome, Milan, and, since last year, New York.

Gaspare Borsellino, Italpress Director and Founder, expressed his enthusiasm: “When my colleague and friend Davide Ippolito told me about this project, I immediately agreed with great interest to partner in this significant and exciting multimedia venture.”

“This fits perfectly,” Borsellino concluded, “within our international development plan, especially in the United States. This partnership will allow us to grow alongside LuckyHorn Entertainment, the U.S.-based company led by Davide Ippolito, with whom we have signed an agreement to provide editorial and multimedia support for a series of Italian and English-language outlets in America.”

Thanks to the partnership with Italpress, in addition to five in-depth analyses of the main news stories, Good Morning Italy will cover the most important events from Italy and around the world, drawing on over 2,000 news items produced daily by the Palermo-based agency.
