Harrison County Home is Destroyed by Weekend Fire

A weekend structure fire in Harrison County saw multiple emergency agencies respond to the scene, an area road shut, but no one was injured, according to the Harrison County 911 center and multiple media reports.

According to the Nutter Fort Fire Department Facebook page, the call came in at 1:19 p.m. Saturday, March 1, for a call on the 1300 block of Davisson Run Road. Due to the natue of the fire, both lanes of the roadway were closed from the section of old Davisson Run Road to Marion Heights. Once fire personnel caught the fire under control the road reopened to traffic.

When units arrived on the scene, they found a single-story dwelling with a full basement including a two-car garage with heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof and all occupants out.

Crews initially tried to save the structure with an interior attack making entry the front door. Crews were immediately faced with high heat and low visibility conditions as well as high winds. After the roof began to collapse and worsening conditions, crews transitioned to a defensive.

Along with Nutter Fort, The Mount Clare, Reynoldsville, Stonewood and Summit Park fire departments were called to the scene. The Harrison County Emergency squad also responded.
