Local Man who Served as VA Nursing Home Chaplain, Church Leader, Robert “Bob” Guy Anderson, Passes

Robert “Bob” Guy Anderson, 58, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Born on June 13, 1968, in Clarksburg, Bob was the son of the late Lester “Pete” Guy Anderson and Nancy Ann Lynch Anderson.

Bob was a man of deep faith, strong character, and unwavering dedication to his family. He believed in working hard, serving others, and living a life that reflected his love for God. For more than 30 years, he worked in the Rent-to-Own industry before answering a calling to serve as chaplain at the Louis A. Johnson VA Nursing Home in Clarksburg, where he faithfully ministered to veterans with compassion and encouragement.

A devoted member of Higher Rock Church, Bob faithfully served through the church’s live-stream ministry, quietly helping share God’s message with others. He also found peace in the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, time on his tractor, and the beauty of the West Virginia mountains.

Above all, Bob cherished his family. His greatest joy was the time he spent with those he loved, and the memories he created with them will remain a lasting source of comfort and strength.

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Randa Anderson Lake and her husband, Max, of Glenville. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Donna Ann Curry and her husband, Michael, and Charlotte Marie Fittro and her husband, Scott, all of Clarksburg; his sisters-in-law, Angela R. Anderson and Amy Libicer; along with several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angela “Angie” Dee Anderson; one son Brandon Guy Anderson; one brother, James Edward Anderson.

Bob will be remembered for his servant’s heart, his steadfast faith, his tireless work ethic, and the unconditional love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and, in the faith, and love he so freely gave.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Friday July 3, 2026 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Sandy and Nate Moore officiating.
