LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Temperatures are on the rise in Southern California as the region experiences warm temperatures for the Fourth of July weekend.
By mid-week, high pressure will begin building, bringing a warm-up and the return of above-average temperatures. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be the hottest days.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Sunday will see morning clouds followed by afternoon sunshine, with a high of 84 degrees and a low of 62. Temperatures are expected to stay in the mid-80s for the next few days.
The valleys and Inland Empire can expect sunny and warm conditions on Sunday, with a high of 89 degrees and a low of 63. When the warmup arrives by mid-week, temperatures will reach the mid-to-upper 90s.
Beach communities on Sunday will see clouds in the morning followed by afternoon sunshine, with a high of 73 degrees and a low of 64.
Mountain communities will see mostly sunny conditions on Sunday, with a high of 79 degrees and a low of 46. Highs will warm to the upper-80s by mid-week.
Desert areas on Sunday will see a high of 93 degrees and a low of 68, with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Palm Springs is expected to reach 106 degrees.
