Mattia Bari is living proof that if you just be yourself and work hard you can be anything!
Mattia Bari, known in the art world as POPST-ART (Popstar of Art), has quickly risen to prominence in the American art scene with his unique approach to art and communication. At just 25 years old, Bari founded his personal brand, Mattia Bari USA, in New York City, collaborating with major multinational companies like L’Oréal Luxe and working with global icons such as Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj through SOLOW & CO.
In 2023, Bari launched a pop revolution in Manhattan, debuting his character and mascot, Fake, at the Art Central Gallery on Billionaire’s Row. This exhibition marked the official introduction of Fake to the American art landscape. The success of the opening established Fake as “the new POP character of NYC,” with its image projected on Times Square billboards and a growing demand for appearances in galleries and showrooms in New York, Miami, and even at Art Basel.
Fake, a playful, reflective, and controversial character made of chocolate, symbolizes the fight against modern-day falsehoods. With its mask and rebellious spirit, Fake aims to reveal the hidden authenticity within each individual. Created to mirror contemporary societal realities, Fake stands as a symbol of freedom and the exploration of human identity, challenging pop culture conventions and blending seamlessly with avant-garde fashion, design, and entertainment.
The success of Fake has led Mattia Bari USA to host events that merge art with new forms of expression. A notable example is the event held on March 23, 2024, at the fashion showroom “doors” in Soho, NYC, sponsored by Vogue Magazine. Despite inclement weather, the event attracted an enthusiastic crowd, offering a sensory experience that included a runway show, La FAKEshion runway, celebrating true identity and personal expression.
Mattia Bari says: “You can do everything, it only depends on you. As human beings, each of us has a mission, and it is that thing that often crosses your mind. The secret is to understand that if you can see it in your mind, you are closer than you think and you can make it happen in reality, everything is at your disposal, only you can stop yourself. Leaving is already being on the journey, detaching yourself from certainties and embracing real life, a wonderful act of courage. Nothing is impossible, Be yourself and you can be anything..”
The collaboration with “doors” showcased the integration of Mattia Bari’s pop art with Soho fashion trends, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. The event featured numerous influencers and prominent personalities, underscoring the growing impact of Fake and the POPST-ART brand on contemporary culture.
Currently, Mattia Bari’s works are displayed at the DAT Gallery in Manhattan, alongside notable names like Kaws and Romero Britto, highlighting his well-deserved success in the art world.
