Milton Keynes LIVE: Man shot dead by police after ‘firearm’ spotted | UK | News

A man has been shot dead by police as officers were responding to reports of a person carrying a firearm at Milton Keynes railway station, Thames Valley Police said.  

The incident happened at Elder Gate shortly before 1pm on Tuesday. Thames Valley Police and British Transport Police officers attended the scene. 

Tames Valley Police said officers “responded and challenged” the man reported to be carrying the weapon.

The force said in a statement: “Armed officers from Thames Valley Police responded and challenged the man, before shots were fired by police. Life-saving actions were immediately taken at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at 1.44pm.”

The statement added police do not believe there is any further risk to the public at this time.
