Be ready for active weather moving through tonight after sundown, thunderstorms in the mix!
PHOENIX — Dynamic storm potentially touching down tonight in the valley. We will likely see widespread rain across the Valley, mainly after dark Tuesday night during the overnight hours into early Wednesday morning.
With this fast-moving, mild system, the snow level will hover around 6,000 feet, producing just minor accumulations for Flagstaff, with several inches possible across the Eastern Mogollon Rim into the White Mountains. A winter weather advisory is in effect for that area, where 2-6″ of snow is possible for places like Forest Lakes, Heber, Greer & Pinetop.
After a brief break late Wednesday, a stronger storm system will dive into the area on Thursday.
Thursday is a Weather Impact Alert Day
You can expect more wet, windy weather in the Valley. Wind, rain and even some thunder are all possible in the Valley on Thursday. For the high country, snow levels will drop to as low as 4,000′. Our initial estimates of snow for Flagstaff will be in the 3-7″ range with higher amounts at Arizona Snowbowl. This system is still several days out, so keep checking back for the latest developments.
