Remains discovered near Midway Avenue

MASCOTTE, Fla. – Mascotte police announced they are investigating after skeletal remains were discovered in a nearby wooded area.
In a release on Monday evening, police said the remains were found near Midway Avenue.
“Detectives, with assistance from the Medical Examiner’s Office, are working to identify the individual and determine the circumstances surrounding the death,” the release reads. “The investigation is in its early stages and remains ongoing.”
