Tempe City Council runoff election results: Incumbents appear to be trailing behind

Maricopa County Elections posted the initial, unofficial results for the runoff election for the Tempe City Council.

TEMPE, Ariz. — Incumbents are trailing behind in the Tempe City Council runoff election, according to the preliminary, unofficial results posted by Maricopa County Elections.

There are two open seats for council members. In the race are two incumbents, Jennifer Adams and Berdetta Hodge, running against Bobby Nichols and Brooke St. George.

 As of May 19, the results are as follows: 

– Brooke St. George: 11,402 (29%)

– Bobby Nichols: 9,938 votes (25.28%)

– Berdetta Hodge: 9,369 votes (23.83%)

– Jennifer Adams: 8,610 votes (21.9%)

A total of 21,582 ballots have been tallied so far, with a 25.93% turnout. 

The results posted by the Maricopa County Elections Department are ballots received through the weekend, via U.S. mail, ballot drop box, or ballot replacement center. It does not include ballots dropped off or voted in-person on Election Day, the provisional ballots, or ballots requiring signature curing.
