LUCKNOW: SP Bahraich, Vrinda Shukla, said that regarding the Maharajganj clash case, an FIR has been lodged, against one individual, Salman, who was identified as the owner of a shop from where shots were fired, while 20 to 30 involved in the incident have been detained.
“Further investigations are underway to identify unknown individuals involved. Several suspects have already been taken into police custody, and special teams have been deployed to arrest those who fled the scene.The situation has now returned to normal, and the immersion process continues smoothly across the district,” she said.
Shukla added that in Maharajganj, tension arose in the area following an attack on an individual.
“Immediate action was taken by the police, with nearly 20 to 30 people involved in the incident have been detained. The situation is now under control, and the idol immersion process has resumed across various locations with sufficient police presence,” she added.
SP Shukla ensured that the police will be present throughout the process of immersion, and any disturbances in different areas will be handled.
Extensive video recordings are being made, and all suspicious individuals will be identified for further legal action. After the immersion is complete, prompt action will be taken against those responsible for the unrest, the district police chief told reporters.
