Auburn men’s basketball just needed to beat Kentucky to clinch a share of the Southeastern Conference regular season title, but needed some help to win the conference outright on Saturday.
The Tigers got just that, beating Kentucky 94-78 in Rupp Arena, and hours later Tennessee knocked off Alabama with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer as time expired.
Auburn was on its way back home as the game between Alabama and Tennessee was ending, and the team watched the game’s thrilling finish on the team bus. The team’s reaction to the game-winning shot was caught on video, showing the moment that the players learned they were outright SEC champions.
