A woman was found dead in a home in Oss on Sunday afternoon. Police also found a baby in the home, who was taken to a hospital.
The police responded to the apartment on Oude Litherweg at around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday after receiving a report of a deceased woman. They found the woman dead inside, along with the child, a police spokesperson told Omroep Brabant.
A trauma helicopter landed at a nearby school. Multiple police vehicles and at least two ambulances responded to the apartment building.
A police spokesperson could not tell RTL Nieuws how old the child is or provide any details about their condition. According to the broadcaster, reporters saw a baby car seat being loaded into the ambulance.
Exactly what happened remains unclear. The police are “keeping all scenarios open,” not ruling out a crime as yet, a spokesperson told Omroep Brabant. According to the broadcaster, forensic investigators spent about 5 hours in the home.
The police took several people to the police station for questioning. No one has been arrested.
